Yay! My First Blog Post!
I’m so excited to finally be writing my very first blog post! I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the different sessions I’ve had the joy of photographing since starting Anastasia Byrd Photography in July 2025, and what better way to do that than by talking about my Fall Mini Sessions.
Honestly… I almost didn’t do fall minis this year. Looking back now, I can’t imagine not doing them because they were SO much fun. Fall is hands-down my favorite season, especially here in North Carolina, with all the beautiful colors, cool air, and cozy vibes. These sessions took place in mid-November at Colonel Francis J. Beatty park in Matthews, NC, and we truly could not have asked for more perfect weather.
This year, I had three amazing families join me for fall minis, and each session was completely different in the best way. One of my favorite things about being a family photographer in Charlotte, NC, is getting to see so many personalities come together and interact naturally. No two sessions are ever the same.
One session was quiet, sweet, and full of love, capturing the tender moments of new parents with their baby. Another was playful and high-energy, with siblings who were excited to do just about anything and made the session full of laughter. The third brought together multiple ages, from toddler to teenager, and while there was some hesitation at first, it quickly turned into a relaxed, fun session where everyone’s personality came through.
Seeing how each family interacted differently, yet all shared genuine connection, was such a reminder of why I love family photography. These fall minis showed me just how meaningful it is to capture families exactly as they are in this season of life.
I’m so grateful to the families who trusted me during my first fall minis, and I’m already looking forward to many more sessions and blog posts in the future!
